Transforming the Human Condition

We plan to use this Blog site as a resource for those who would like to use it for the spoken or written word. For example, many of us have printed books or ideas that address the four questions in the previous blog below. We can use this site for connecting "out of mainstream" writers with resources for printing, marketing, and distributing your ideas to the largest potential audience electronically available--the internet users!

It is my opinion, that we are all pieces of the puzzle necessary to create a humanly compatible planet. I also believe that one of the first steps in achieving this objective is "healthy dialogue." Such dialogue will begin to reveal the "consciousness of the planet" that produces the conditions we observe.

If we can begin to understand others from their perspective, we will have acccomplished the first major step in cultural compatibility. This step is captured by the words of St. Francis of Assisi:

"First seek to understand.
Then seek to be understood."

The actual practice of this quote requires a major step in humility (as discussed in the book, Animal Kingdom)--the willingness to set aside one's own beliefs, opinions, and values in order to understand how others experience life.

Together, we can turn this Blog site into an incredible force for human understanding. Let's get started by your participation and enrolling the participation of others. So, the larger question becomes, "Where Are We Now?" before addressing "Where To Now?"

Comments:
As a survivor of Hurricane Katrina I am acutely sensitive to the human condition. Having lost all of my material possessions, the aftermath of the hurricane/flood is more than I can comprehend. I am certain, sometimes, that I will awaken from this terrible nightmare and realize that it was only a bad dream and I will be able to go back home, soon.

I am most conerned by the lack of leadership we seem to have in the U.S. and the world today. We are not really solving problems, but trying to contain them. We don't seem to know where we are going or what is the goal. We just seem to be, at best, in a holding pattern hoping that nothing goes out of control. I'm interested in knowing how do we come together for our mutual benefit or do we need another crisis!

where to now.. that seems to be an appropriate question for my situation right now also. A year ago I moved to a place (after doing my "business" research and deciding with my business brain)believing that this would be the right place to make a living almost easily. I didn't expect it to come totally easy. And then nothing happened here at all.I worked very hard to no avail. My lease is up and so I decided that I might as well decide this time with my heart and intuition (which is the same anyway) the "where to now" and Santa Fe, NM came up the easiest. I lived there 12 years ago, left because of my divorce, so it was a painful completion, but I still love the place, the creative energy, the nature, the cultures.
But.. I have these days of being totally clueless about everything, I feel overwhelmed by (missing) finances, I still lose trust in my creatorship abilities.. Do I sound like bitching? Yes, I do.. Any advice how to make it easier for myself will gladly be accepted.

ANIMAL KINGDOM Animal Kingdom: A Diversity Fable.
The message of this book is quite simple and straightforward: “When we gain the humility to compatibly resolve our differences — both within and among different groups — we will also gain the wisdom to live and work together in greater harmony.” In Animal Kingdom, the message is to learn to “see through the eyes of others as a necessity to compatibly live and work together to survive an impending crisis. But in order to work together, each group must first learn how to set aside their own opinions, ideas, and even values in order to avoid an impending crisis.
